Hi,
I am a newbie here. I have a rectangular image of a color spectrum. I would like to change it to a triangular shaped spectrum so that it looks like the spectrum coming out of a glass prism.
How can it be done?
...try out the warp feature on the placed image in illustrator...
...effect menu > warp > arch and then adjust the horizontal or vertical to 100%...
...it may be better for quality to apply your own gradient to a rectangle and then rasterize it to the size required, unless your image is already of adequate quality to warp...
...to raster an object can be found under object > rasterize...
...a full color spectrum can be found under the swatches palette flyout menu (top right), scroll down to 'open swatch library' > gradients > spectrums...
...if your only layer says 'background' double click the layer with the alt/option key, this will unlock it to a layer...
...also an additional way, by way of warp, in photoshop is to command + T a layer in photoshop, then right click and select 'warp', in the tool bar you also have warp options, change to 'arc'...
