My ISP is netzero, so I'm using Outlook Express. I have 2 yahoo email accounts. I've been using one of my yahoo accounts to be viewed in express. Now, I removed that account and added the other yahoo account. I keep getting a server error message for yahoo when express starts up. I triple checked that I had my account name and passward correct.
I put my original yahoo account back in express and it runs fine.

Can someone help??
In Outlook Express other than Tools - Account, is their another place to delete the old yahoo account??

If you go to the control pannel, and double click on the mail icon, that brings you into the mail manager.........

make sure that the SMTP and POP3 servers are set correctly for the second Yahoo a/c in Outlook.

I know that Yahoo were messing around with their mail and servers, so if the second mail account was created at a different time, you could be using a different server at Yahoo....verify if you are on the right one for that mail Jay~

Did that. Re-enter everything. Still can't get it to see second account. Went into registry and searched for the first yahoo account name and came up empty.

If you have two accounts on Yahoo, then to change from one to another can be done simply be changing only the username and the password of the account.
Enter in your account that is working and try to send/receive mail just as a test. once that works, just go into the account and change your user name and password to the new one. Then try and send mail......
if it fails tell me where and what message comes up. Jay~

KeyTech,I did what you said. The first account works fine, then I changed to the second account and When I go to Send/Rec mail a Login box comes up with the second accounts name and password. I retyped the password and the Login box came up again. I clicked cancel and the Outlook Expresss error box came up saying,
There is a problem logging into your mail server. Your Password was rejected. I know the password is correct (used lowercase). Even opened up a new browser and went to Yahoo mail and tried the second account. It worked fine.

ok I think whats happening here is that Yahoo have two different servers for your mail. When you see that password error, it doesn't always mean that its the password thats wrong, it could be the username, which as you say is ok, so that means that the Yahoo server doesnt recognise the username, so there must be a second server..
What are the SMTP and POP3 servers you are using for Yahoo? and what is the gap (if you can remember) between the creation of the two accounts? Jay~

The POP3 Server is: pop.mail.yahoo.com
The SMTP Server is: smtp.mail.yahoo.com

The first account was made about: Dec-98
The second account was made: Sept-01

ok....try this server for the mail that doesnt work.....

pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk
smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk

see if that accepts your username and password.... Jay~

KeyTech,
I tried what you said, No help. So I went back into my second account in Yahoo. Went to Options to check on Pop Access. I thought that I had set it up for Pop mail, but it wasn’t. It now config for pop mail and Express is receiving the mail.

Thanks for your time and effort. I was ready to fdisk the HD until you answered me. Thanks for saving me one big headache.

Does anyone know the hack to get Yahoo mail setup in Outlook Express without using the POP settings, but instead using the HTTP? I know someone who accomplished this, so apparently it can be done. He said he had to make some changes in the Windows Registry.
