I have a situation in which I'm swithing two individuals workstations. Is it possible to just switch the patch panel cords and have the individuals take their phones with them or should I just reconfigure and change them through the BCM system management?
Thanks,

with static ip's you can take those phones anywhere on the network you want, as long as they can see the BCM.

We are not using VOIP yet.

You can switch wires on the backboard/patch panel, or enable set relocation and have them take their phones with them - the extensions will follow the phones if set relocation is enabled. Just make sure you don't move too many sets at one with set relocation on, as sometimes flaky things can happen.
