I'd like to change the administrator password, which is also the service account....Exchange was setup, so that the administrator can log into everyones email. Obviously, there are some security issues. The old administrator is still on staff in a different function and our Financial people / managers are concerned. How could I change or modify either the admin password, or change access rights to users mailbox container? Much appreciated.

Jay

Create a new account called Exchange Admin. Give it a very difficult password. Change the service details for all Exchange components. Stop and restart all services. Go to Exchange Admin. Change properties of each container to remove your old admin person. Add in Exchange Admin and Backup Admin.

Only ones this does not affect are users that have manually allowed this person access.

Stop that account being a service account.
