I am needing to swap out an 824 non DS KSU with an 824DS version. My question is can I backup the programming with Norstar Manager, and then restore the programming to the new KSU? (824 to 824ds).
apparently somebody installed a Startalk voicemail on the non DS KSU and the lines are staying busy in the voicemail because there is no disconnect supervision in the KSU.

Also is the programming stored in the software,or is it stored in the KSU? in other words can I just pull the software out of the old KSU and put it in the DS ksu, and be done?

Thanks,
Marcus

In an 8x24 the user database is stored in the cartridge.
You should be able to move the entire cartrdige to the new KSU without a hitch.
Yes you can backup and restore with Norstar Manager.
You will need DR5 software minimum SP:30MUJ24
You will also need a RAD and PC with a serial connection.

Diffently make sure you do a back up.

How old is the non DS 8X24. The farad batteries in the Software cartridge might be pretty old and won't be able to retain your programming when the power is removed from the KSU. I see this all the time with old software cartdiges from 8X24 systems.

Good luck!

Thank you Aragon!
Bdalida I have no idea how old the KSU is
