From my understanding of the Microsoft help, there's no way to change the data type of an existing column. However, is there any way to change the optional settings? Or if I want to change either, am I stuck deleting the column and creating a new one?

The specific thing I'm looking at is making a field not required (or requiring only date, not time) in the Events list, which is already full of events. Is there a way I can change this without deleting the column and losing all of the data?

And actually, it doesn't even look like I can delete a column. Is this just some weird thing to do with the default Events list? Is my best plan to scrap it and create my own Custom List for events?

Hello,

Some of the default columns in the default lists are not editable. Try and create your own custom list and you should be able to customize your columns.

You might also add your own columns to the default events list and then chose to hide the default columns.

Regards,
Thomas
