Is there a way to change the number of rings before the voicemail answers, giving the options for leaving messages? It isn't AA, just VM. I have only found how to change the number of rings before VM picks up at certain extensions, but I'm wanting to change the number of rings before the system wide general greeting picks up.

Well the processor is a R1.1. I am not sure what the voicemail card is, its just the small 4 mailbox VM. I am not at the office right now so I can't look at it right now.

There is no system wide general greeting other than the AA in the PVM PC Card - unless you are using call cover to have a particular mailbox answer a line, in which case you want to go to Call Cover Rings, #320

Well, as it is right now when someone calls it rings 4 times and the "general greeting" answers (changed by going into mailbox '0'). Then callers are given a list of the different office personnel who have a mailbox and they select which one they want to leave a message for by selecting numbers 1 through 4. So #320 will change how many times it rings before the "general greeting" (as the Lucent voicemail 'person' calls it)??

Hi tryingmybest,
Okay, you want to use the attendant greeting. #506 will give you "hunt delay" settings. You may only have "immediate" or "delayed" (4 rings) on you earlier rev processor. Later units starting at R3 (I believe) give you from "0" (immediate) to "6" or so rings. The delay can be different for day and night on the newer processors.
#320 is call coverage rings. Not used in a straight forward attendant greeting.

Okay, I did a #506 and it said Immediate. So, it's set to Immediate and answers after 4 rings. I guess delayed will be alot more rings than that.

Well it is set to Immediate but when someone calls it will ring 4 times, so I don't understand why but I guess that's okay since I can't select a particular number of rings anyway.

Strange, "Delayed" should be three rings, outside caller hears four rings. "Immediate" picks up on the first ring, outside caller hears one and maybe a bit. Not unless the R1.1 is different than all other releases. I am at a total loss here!

I certainly don't know. I just know that's what it said it is set at. Oh well! :-D
