I want to move my client's network to a private address scheme (192.168.X.X). They are using DHCP. The PDC and SQL server have static IPs, the clients are using DHCP.
The problem is that when I change the clients to the new DHCP scope they cannot access the SQL database. They can ping the server by IP and by name. The software guys tell me that their program and SQL only use NETBIOS names for identification and that changing the Network address should not affect anything.
Is there anything network ID specific within SQL when it is installed?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Al
atc-computing@home.com
