I was wondering if there was a way to change the names that show up in Net Neighborhood of comps. My network primarily uses TCP/IP.

Any help would be appriciated.

Thanks.

The names that show up in Network Neighborhood are the Netbios computer names of each computer and can only be changed on the computers themselves.

If you are wanting mode detail about the particular computer and the OS is Win9x, you can add the information to the Computer Description in network properties. This will also show up when browsing.

You would have to go the computer which you want to change the name and go into network properties and change the computer name from there.

Right click at "Network neighborhood" > Properties > Identification [sig][/sig]
