I would like to have the mouse menu (menu that appears when right mouse button is pressed) to change, presenting different menu options depending on which field on a form the user is focused on.

For example, I have a four-column datasheet form: When the user is in the first field (column) one set of menu options should be available; in the second column another set of menu options, etc.

Is this workable? ...if anyone can refer me to a book or other source for examples it would be apprecieated.

This works in A97, so maybe it will work for you.

OK, open your form in design view and click on the first columns detail text box. Right click and choose properties. Under the Other tab, you will see a choice for Shortcut Menu Bar. That is what you want. It is explained in the help file: ShortcutMenuBar Property. Basically, you create a toolbar, set it properties to Popup and then you can select it in the Shortcut Menu Bar line in the Properties box of the control.

Check out the help file and let me know.

Thanks Kathyrn, it worked just as you described. I had searched the help files but not for the right keywords. ...very much appreciated. --mm
