Is there any other way of changing the maximum registry size besides going through Control Panel?

You can use a CMD and update and/or add using REG for NT4 & W2K I believe. XPP's REG is different.
Reg Add System\CurrentControlSet\Control\RegistrySizeLimit=57671680
Reg Update System\CurrentControlSet\Control\RegistrySizeLimit=57671680

This is for a registry size limit of 55M.
If you need to know a value, set it through CP and then check the key to see what value it put in as decimal.
HKLM is assumed if nothing else is there.

Thanks! Now I just have to automate it for other users.

In addition to LOB,
You can calculate the value using calculator.
For example:

- Calculate 57671680 bytes into Megs
(57671680 / 1024) / 1024 = 55

- Calculate 10 Megs into bytes
(10 * 1024) * 1024 = 10485760

Hope it helps a little
