Hello,

When changing the system manager password -- can the previous password ever be re-initialized by uploading a previous/backup config?

Thanks!

When you talk about a system running 3.2 and higher then no.
This is saved on the IPO itself and not in the config.

Service and Security user accounts are controlled by a separate partition of memory on the IP Office. If you have forgotten the manager service user password (Administrator/Administrator) you can easily reset it by logging into the security settings (security/securitypwd) and changing the password. It cannot be restored (after 3.2 as stated) with a default of the configuration.

The entire security partition can be defaulted via DTE. AT-SECURITYRESETALL
