I have to do the following.

Take extension 205 and make it ring where extension 525 currently rings.

I've moved extensions around before but... extension 205 is associated with what I believe is called a "phantom mailbox".

So... when you call 205, it goes to a mailbox where you can leave a message. There is no physical phone associated with it. Nothing rings anywhere.

I'm wondering in what order to proceed?

Should I first remove the phantom mailbox status?

I believe you accomplish that like this:

1. I access system administration: dial 770, etc.
2. Select 2 for extension administration

3. Enter extension (205)
4. Select Phantom Mailbox (9)
5. Delete PM status (*3)

Then what? I've moved extensions before but that was when offices physically moved. I'm not sure my notes would apply.

Here, I would just need 205 to ring where 525 rings right now.

What would the procedure for that be?

Thanks in advance!

From the programming console:
Menu
System program
start if a magix(or exit if a legend)
System renumber
adjunct
enter old adjunct (205)
enter new adjunct (this can be anything not in use by the system-I use something easy to remember like 300)
Then choose Extension
Enter old extension (525)
Enter new extension (205)
You can then go back to adjunct and renumber 300
Old adjunct 300
new adjunct 525

You have now swapped x525 and x205 where x525 is now the phantom and x205 will ring the phone.

Thanks.

But after "System Renumber", I have the following options only:

- Default Numbering
- Single
- Block
- NonLocal UDP

There is no adjunct.

???

OK, that seems to work. Have the phone ringing where it should.
Thanks!
