Changing M/C name and domain 1

Hi, due to historical reasons I have 2 domains and I want to revert to 1, moving my BDC to the other domain.

My procedure has been ..
1. remove BDC from original domain-a
2. rename BDC machine
3. add new machine name to wanted domain-b
4. change domain on BDC machine

Admittedly, I'm beyond my knowledge level here and I basically have got nowehere .. trying to access the machine from domain-b or logging-in from domain-b gives me 'netlogon service not running' error.

Can anyone guide me here?

To change an NT4 BDC server from one domain to the other, whether it will be a member server or domain controller, you're going to have to re-install the OS.

The installation will ask you what type of server you want, and you can then join it to the domain.
