I have had a similar problem to many in opening reports linked to Access in enterprise. Having read a number of entries I am trying to follow the advice to change the logon on for page server/job server/web component server to something other than local host.

Unfortunaltely every time I change the entry and I click ok, checking the properties shows that the logon has reverted to local host.

I have tried stopping all services to no avail. Has anyone had the same problem and can anyone help before I start throwing things.

Many thanks

Hi Catbert,
do you have local administration rights for the server the CE runs on ? Do you validate the logon eg domainname/userid as if it is not a valid userid it will default to the previous value ?

Hi ShotyA,

thanks for the reply, I do have local rights, everything is installed on my pc ( we are very small scale!) and I have admin rights to my own pc.

I have actually just worked this out as you were posting - I cannot update the log on via the ccm, but I went to the services via control panel and reset the logon from local to my own id and password and voila! It saves fine and Everything now works, all reports display and no more requests for username and password .

Thanks Anyway
