I know how to use the colour option for setting the background colour and text of the command window, within windows NT using a batch file. Can anybody tell me how I can change the colour of an individual line (when using batch files in dos there was a command to do this). Also, I wish to move the position of the cursor so that the output from my batch file, e.g. text, can be positioned anywhere within the command window (when using batch files in dos there was a command to do this also). I also want to make individual lines within my batch file flash (when using dos, there was a command called "blink"). In dos, I had to use ansi.sys for these commands. Do I have to use this for windows NT. If so how? Or is there an entry in the registary or resource kit? Many thanks to anyone who can help me. Richard.

Where did you load ansi.sys?
NT does have autoexec.nt and config.nt (which are in the \system32 folder) for such things.
So if you had a line in either one in DOS you should be able to add it to the .NT versions.

I did find ansi.sys in the \system32 folder so it just might work.

Make back up copies of both .nt files before you start messing with them.
