We are in the process of changing froma dial up to a T1 line for our e-mail. I have gone to the Verisign site where our domain is registered and entered the new IP addresses for the T1. Can anyone tell me how to point Exchange Server to the new provider? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

We use NT4 SP6 and Exchange 5.5

your new provider will after you ask for it will make a mx
record it needs some thing like this
your domain name
your first server "e-mail" then second sever
your first dns server this is from your provider .

your server will need you have the ip address in this record.

if you need more help mhornbeck@vom-usa.org

Correct all you need to do is update the MX record. That is done by calling who ever hosts your domain and telling them what IP address you wish to point the mail domain to. It sometimes takes up to 48 hours to update. As long as machine running Exchange can access the internet you should be OK. Are you behind a firewall?
