Does anyone know if it is possible to create a batch file or some other way to change the IP address of a PC ?

The reason for this is that I need to change the IP on about 200 machines all running windows(95/98/XP/2K) I dont want to have to go to each machine to do this.

If you need anymore information ask.

Thanks for any help

If you use DHCP this is extremely simple. For NT, 2K and XP Pro create a batch file with the commands:

c:\ipconfig /release
c:\ipconfig /renew

For 9x clients a variation of. Has been a while since I used it so check to make sure.

c:\winipcfg /release
c:\winipcfg /renew

Youi can have this file called up by other log in scripts, e-mail it to users or put in start-up folders. However is easist to distribute.

For Static IP addresses it would be much harder as each has to be unique.
