Changing IP Address on Crystal Server

I don't know much about Crystal, but I've inherited a server. When it was first put in place, the IP that was assigned is only available to the local network. I need to reset it so users in other network spaces can access it. I tried just changing the server IP, but no one could access it. Is there a place somewhere in the software where that IP is also assigned? I've looked everywhere, but I can't find anything. Thanks.
 
Without looking, I want to say it's XI. I know the regular Crystal Reports is XI. Thanks!
 
I don't have a copy of the XI version of CRS that I can play with, so I'm going from memory here.....

I would look at the registry. Specifically at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software - there may be a key called "BusinessObjects" or there may be one named something like "Crystal Server" or "Crystal Reports Server". I would review all of the entries under that to make sure that none of those has the IP address in it.

Also, when you change the IP, it may take a bit for the DNS Servers to propagate the updated information across the network. Also, what happens if one of the users from the other network adds the IP address and server name to the hosts file in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc? Does the connection work when accessing it from the same network as the server?

I reset the IP, then searched the Registry for the old IP and there was no record of it. We also using InfoView, I don't know if that matters but when I reset the IP, users get a 'Page could not be displayed' message. Yes, with it set to the original IP, local users can access it. I need to move this to a Win7 machine anyway, so I started down that path but I'm having trouble with the Central Configuration Manager. All I can find on the internet are messages that say "Did you read the instructions? If you did, you wouldn't be having this problem!" And no, I didn't! Thanks!
 
If you can access it using the old IP address even though you've changed it to another IP, then the IP has not updated in the local DNS. So, this is probably a network issue.

I'm confusing myself, now! If I leave the old IP, local users can access it, but users in a different building can't. If I reset the IP to one that everyone should have access to, no one has access. They all get the "Page could not be displayed" message. To your knowledge, are there no IP settings in BOE? And it could very well be DNS. I guess I could reset the IP, delete the old address in DNS and see what happens.
 
I'm pretty sure that at this point CRS uses machine names and not IP Addresses.
