Hello all,

Is it possible to change interface speed (ifSpeed) value using SNMP SET command? I'd expect to find any standard oid that provides such opportunity.

If there is no such standard object, is there any other way to change it VIA SNMP?

In my opinion, it must be possible.

Thanks for your help

rfc2863 reports ifSpeed

ifSpeed OBJECT-TYPE

SYNTAX Gauge32
MAX-ACCESS read-only
STATUS current
DESCRIPTION
"An estimate of the interface's current bandwidth in bits....

ifSpeed is only reporting the speed.
Therefore ifSpeed can't be changed via the SNMP ifSpeed object. read/write access is irrelevant.
It would be possible to change the speed through another object if the agent makes that available.
