Hi all,
I want a blank page to appear when I open IE6. BUT, I would like the "home" button to to take me to a page or site that is not "about: blank". Is there anyway to do this?
Thanks!

Open IE and click on Tools and internet option...you can change the default homepage from there...but just type in the site you want and click ok...don't press any of the buttons like "use current" etc or the change may not take effect. once you've done that...close IE and reopen it...it should take you to the page

Charlierb3:

The desktop IE icon is a special clsid that doesn't support this. In order to do what you want you must create a new shortcut and use a rarely documented switch for IE. But this should only take you about a minute.

Right click on a blank area of the desktop and choose New>Shortcut. Click on Browse and navigate to C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe and click Open. While you are still on this screen you must add [space]-nohome after the double quote marks on the command line so that the end of the line looks like this:

exe" -nohome

Click Next and choose a name such as 'Blank' and then click Finish. Now when you double click this shortcut IE will open with a blank page, but when you hit the Home button it will open whatever homepage you have chosen under Tools>Internet Options. I have 5.5 and it works for me. Post back and let me know if it works for 6.0. Thanks in advance for your input.
