I made the mistake of selecting the program to open a file type with associated with a particular program. Now ALL of my icons are pointed to this program. I have selected their properties and tried to change the icon but this is not working.

A little guidance would be appreciated.

Thank you,

If you're running Windows XP, then do a system restore.

If it's Windows 98 and the problem happened within the last 5 days, then press and hold the Ctrl key during startup, select 'Command prompt only' from the menu, press Enter, at the C:\> prompt type scanreg /restore and press Enter, select a Registry that predates the problem, and press Enter.
