Hi Everybody,

We've got Livelink 9.2, and we have a hierarchy of folders beneath our projects.

We'd like to change the icons to reflect the permissions groups that can access each folder so that users don't just dump sensitive stuff in the wrong places. Is this possible in 9.2?

Will you elaborate a little. You have a Livelink Project Node that contains a number of folders right. If a cordinator came to the project it should show a different icon for the folder viz a viz for guests and members. Is this what you are asking ?

Hiya,

No, it's the other way round. The icon for that folder should be set according to the permissions on the folder.

For example, a project manager can see all folders, but he will put the sensitive stuff into the folder with an icon of a folder and a lock on it, that only project managers can open.

And were you asking whether or not this functionality was available out of the box.I am not sure about that.If you know how livelink permissions work by coding either thru changing the weblingo file you could probably change what the differnt folders viz a viz based on your busines rule This is a business rule right.Livelink cannot make a business rule saying a folder should pick a different icon based on who is who on on its ACL.If you have xml experience you could probably style sheet that too.Try writing in livelinkteam@yahoo.com also. There may be people who accomplish these things(these are very cosmetic if you ask me and that is only me)in better ways there also.

if you can provide clear business rules for the icons to be displayed or not we should be able to incorporate this into a fix.
