Changing from Pst to Ost file.

I am trying to share data with a home and office desktop. The home office desktop will not recognize the .ost file copied from the office to a thumb drive as an Outlook data file. Any suggestions?
The home works with a pst file and personal files, which are hopefully included in the office .ost file, as this is the only data file attached to the profile.

I asked before about duplicate programs, but that's a bit down the road. I suspect now that the OST and personal files have mostly duplicate information, but I don't want to lose anything. Is there a way to synchronize the ost and pst data?

uhhh..cancel that. I just figured it out, at least the pst v ost issue (I have been working on it for a couple of days, and of course the illumination comes after posting here.)
