I will be changing out 20 loop lines for a T1 and installing a DTI card. My question is do i tell the system in hardware that i'm going to a T1 after i remove the trunk module and install the DTI card, or do i do it once the T1 is in and plugged into the card? System is a 0x32, 4.1 software.

When changing trunk card types you're supposed to go to Maintenance to disable the card slot, go to Hardware to change the card type, then go back to Maintenance to enable the new card type. I normally install the new cards, then make the changes in Hardware, but as previously stated you can do it either way.

Also, are you changing your fiber expansion card or leaving the one you have installed? If removing, it could cause your system to default, so be sure to perform a backup of your current translations.

This was the first time i changed a system from loop to T1, so i left the 2 port fiber in, and added the DTI card and clocking card, the disabled the card in Maint, set up the T1 in Hardware, re-enabled the card, and everything worked fine. Also the T1 had ground start trunks, so lines were set to ground, pool a, answer mode : manual. Just wanted to run this by the forum in case i might have overlooked something. Thanks everyone.

If you're going to have DID's on this T1, you'll need to set the "Answer Mode" to Auto and Answer with DISA to NO.
