Not sure if this can be done, I read through the NTP's to see what I could find and nothing came up. My boss has a 2008 and wants me to replace it with a 2616 that we have as a spare. I am not sure how to do this without reprogramming the set. Surely there is a way to do this as I imagine this same task is done quite a bit. Thanks for any help on this.

for as long as I've been working on Nortel switches I have never changed a set from one type to another. I always out in and rebuild is as new. To make it easier, do you have an existing M2616 you could copy and just change the DNs?

Thanks, that is what I was thinking but wanted to make sure as I have several of these requests to do.

Yes I have several 2616 I can copy to make it easier....

One other thing though...what about the voice mail? Is there a way to copy this over to the new set? When I out the 2008, I will lose the voice mail...right?? Thats my main concern...to get the voice mail over so he wont have to recreate all his greetings and stuff....

Thanks again

you won't lose voicemail. The mailboxes are built separately. you could out and never rebuild the phone and the mailbox will still be there until you also out that from Meridian Mail (if that's what you have).

Thanks, it all worked like a charm, did 4 sets already without a hitch.
