Hello everyone,

This is my first post but these forums have been very helpful to me. Thank you all.

Here is the question I have right now that I would like some help with:

I need to change an extension from a 2410 digital handset to a 4610 VoIP phone. **Don't worry all of the backbone is setup already for the VoIP setup**

I thought I was going to do this by first removing the station "remove station XXXX" then duplicating a different 4610 that I already have setup "duplicate station XXXX", and changing the extension and password.

However, when I input "remove station XXXX" i am getting this error: "Extension must be removed from Off-pbx-telphone station-mapping first". I am not sure what this is, how it is used, or how I remove it... Or, if I was headed down the best path to accomplish my goal in the first place.

My local searches and google results have not been able to help me. Any help is appreciated.

P.S. I am working in what is described as Native Configuration Manager Version 3.1-8 with s8300 hardware. Sorry if I incorrectly identified this as a Definity system.

P.S.2. Any recommended training resources I should go over based on my knowledge [or lack there of :)] and enviroment? I have been finding "pbxhowtos" on youtube very helpful...

Hi

Using extension 1234 as an example You will need to run the command "remove off-pbx-telphone station-mapping 1234"

Using "change off-pbx-telephone station-mapping XXXX" and clearing the config I was able to get past that error. It was perviously mapped to EC500. The new setup has this mapped to a feature key but not an "off-pbx-telephone station-mapping". Do I need to add it for EC500 to work?

After that I got a new error and ended up needing to clear out the old voicemailboxes.

Then I got an error about the phone not being able to have the crss-alert softkey.

The phones are in my system now; not sure that was the best way though...
