Hi All,
I have recently started in a new position where the naming convention used for e-mail is firstname@domain.com - I want to change this for each user to firstname.lastname@domain.com and I want to know if I can keep both addresses for the change over period, 2 months or so.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks,
Ger.

Yes, create new SMTP addresses for everyone in the new format. Set it as the PRIMARY address. The old one will be the secondary. Any email sent will use the new one. Any email addresses to either address will be delivered. After 2-3 months just delete all the secondary ones.

this solution is for M$ exchange 2000
in the exchange system manager
add a new recipient policy with the following rule:
type SMTP, address: %g.%s@domain.com
make it primary address.
