If you have a report based on a dsn, but then want to use that report on a copy of a database in a different location. Can you change the dsn for the report or do you have to redo the entire report.

Thank you

In Crystal:
1. On the tool bar select Database.
2. On the drop down menu select Set Location
3. On the Set Location Popup Window:
Select each table in the report and click the Set Location button. You will get another popup that will allow you to select another DSN and table name.
4. When you have changed every table your report should now run off the new database.
Hope this helps.

Hi Harry:
Thank you very much. I was beginning to think it could not be done.

You can also remove the 'DatabaseName.dbo' from the SetLocation box. Then you dynamically specify a DSN and the report will then use whatever database the DSN points to.

I know you can specify a dynamic DSN in VB by changing the Connect property, but does anyone know how to specify a DSN though a URL using the Web Component Server?
