Here's the deal kids. I am a straight windows guy, as such I know nothing about linux/unix other than I should have learned it a long time ago.
There is a web hosting company in my town that hosts a domain and under that domain there is an alias that has my domain listed. The admin. doesn't know how to remove that alias record in the unix/linux box and I certainly don't have any ideas.
But it seems to be mucking with my e-mail so ANY ideas are greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Check file /etc/hosts on the Linux box, or else if the box is running bind (named), check /etc/named.conf to find where the maps are stored and then modify the maps. Too bad I.T. is not cash business

They're usually stored in /var/named but no guarantees.

Look in at /etc/named.conf to see where the maps are located.

most likely /var/named/

Edit the map that has the CNAME record in question.

Increment the SerialNumber, should be near the top of the map file. It is very important to increment the serial number so bind knows there has been a change.

Restart bind:

ndc reload

or
service named restart
