Outlook 2000 always defaults to a directory called OLK25 in temp internet files when you try and save an attachment. As I am trying to discourage my users to save anything on their C: drives, it would be nice to be able to change this default but I can't see an obvious way round it.
Any suggestions much appreciated!
Cheers!

Jen:

If you want to change the default so your users can just hit SAVE when they open an attachment, no. To my knowledge that cannot be changed. However, there may be some 3rd party utilities or VBA code that could accomplish it. See for 3rd party stuff and/or maybe some more info.

To CHANGE the Save As, yes. The default for that is My Documents. If we change it, all programs that use My Documents as the default save location will change to the new location.

Let me know if you're interested in that, and I'll find the Technet article for ya. Anne Troy

Thanks for that. Shame there's no easy solution. I have already changed the My Documents location for all users so this outlook attachments quirk seems to be the only thing which is causing people to save things in C: Hopefully Microsoft will do something about this is the next version?!
Cheers!
