We've been asked to change the default route on an OLD J50, AIX 4.3.3 ML11

We're replacing the token ring with ethernet and as such the gateway will change. What I'm concerned about is routing and rc.net

If I bring down tok0 and then enable en0, do I need to add anything to the hosts file and change entries is rc.net

Today I added an entry to the hosts file and it automatically created a route on tok0, which prevented testing on en0

Routing ain't a strong point of mine. Below is the current netstat -rn
The 172.18.x.x are entries in rc.net

thanks, AIXchild

# netstat -rn

Hello

You must flush the route with smit tcpip - route - flush odm entry IPV4
You can verified :
You can read you route with
lsattr -El inet0

The route entry is normaly enregistred in ODM database and not in file

Good luck
