Hello All,

I sure hope someone can answer this question for me... I would like to change the default mask for files that are being ftp'd to a server.. How would I do that and what file would I have to change the permission on?

Any help would be wonderful!

Thank you for your time.

Don't know what version of Solaris you are using...

In Solaris 9, you can run the FTP daemon with a -u option and set the umask.

In solaris 8,7 and 6, you can change the permissions by creating the file /etc/default/ftpd and adding line UMASK=***

bfitzmai,

THANK YOU so much for your response.. You have been a HUGE help and I will try it out and I will let you know how it goes..

Many Many Thanks again!!!

Thanks for the star Novice... If you need more information, take a look at "man ftpd"... Search for umask.
