Hi All,

CE10
SQL server 2000

I have a number of scheduled reports that have to be switched to a new server during a migration. Can i change the reports to point to a new DSN using schedule manager, without having to reschedule the reports? Simple Q i know, but i haven't had a chance to test this yet, and probably wont have a chance to test before the changeover

Thanks in advance

Hi,
But it appears that you can change both the datasource and the schedule ( even change it to the same time as it is currently set) from the same interface.

Actually you no longer have reschedule your existing scheduled reports if you don't mind using a third party tool.

One of the 18 tools available in the .rpt Inspector Enterprise Suite lets you modify existing schedules (schedule info, database logon, destinations, formats, parameters, etc.).

Another great feature is the ability to re-run a failed (or successful) instance. Most instances fail due to missing database logon info or missing parameters. So why would you want to respecify all your the info again just to fix that? Well you no longer have to. You can "re-process" them (it doesn't modify the existing instance but rather creates a new one) and the software will prompt you if want to modify some or all of the info in the failed/success instance before it creates a new instance. This is also a great way to get the latest data without having to specify all the properties again (database, destinations, formats, parameters, etc.)
