I use sqlserver 2000 for cr9.0 to connect. I mainly use views for the datasource. I have been in the process of converting many of these views to SP's.

Lets say my view name is vTEST I use database-->set datasource location to change the datasource.

This works fine and the report works. But in my field explorer located on the left of the screen under the database section the name of my old datasoruce appears although it is connecting to my new datasource.

Is there a way to change this name to reflect the new datasource name so I don't get confused the next time I edit the report so I know what datasource I am pulling from.

Thanks

I don't have CR 9 installed on this box, but it should be something like Set Alias.

I'm having this same problem. Forgive my ignorance, but what is set alias? Can you please give a more detailed explanation of what you mean?

Thanks

Matt

Set Alias was one of the items under the Database menu in Crystal versions prior to v9. Starting with CR9, you can change the alias by clicking the Database menu > Database Expert > highlight the table/procedure/command you want to change the alias for > hit the [F2] key, and you can 'rename' the table.
