Hi everybody!

I have a CR connected to SQL Server X. The Report is fine, perfect. But now I would like to pull the data from Server Y not from Server X. Server X and Y are identical SQL Servers just one is production server and one testing server.

How can I change the Datasource, so that I don't have to create the Report from the beginning.

Thanks,
Durug

Select "Database" from the menu bar, then select "set location". This will allow you to specify a different server.

Hello,
You should be able to do this by going into the report designer and select database/ set location and set tables to your new database. Once you've done this, the next step would be to go to database/ verify database.. As long as the structure is the same, you should be able to convert without any problems.

Even if the data structure has changed, as you verify the database you will be prompted to go through a field-to-field mapping process. This happened to me last week when the old database had a field called "CustomerNumbe" and in the new one it was called "CustomerNumber"

It is not always this straighforward, but it is a one-time thing and usually works well. Software Support for Macola, Crystal Reports and Goldmine
