Changing columns

Hi,

I'm trying to do a book that flows from 1 column to 2 column back to 1 column throughout the book etc. I know that I can link the boxes and autoflow the text, and put in column breaks, however it causes problems when text is changed inside the various text boxes and everything has got to be moved to fit again.

Does anyone know a better way to get round this problem?
