changing CLS UNR to TLD.

Just wondered what I need to be aware of it go and change a heap of extn's from UNR to TLD. We use BARS, but Im told that if you have a line that has a CLS of UNR it means it ignores the NCOS etc..
I still want these lines to access AC1 etc.

and if I have UNR on trunks that needs to be changed right? for security reasons.?

neither is true, test an ncos 0 set with unr, you'll still have ncos blocks (at least in my 81) i build all my trunks as ctd, and usually build all sets as ctd.. before you change a batch, i recogmend changing yours, and test it.

Depending on the country you are located in may determine how the PABX is configured for outdialling access. It sounds like you need to change the sets only if you are concerned with NCOS levels not actually active if the set is UNR. This is much more of an issue with Meridian Mail and Call Pilot ports. Make sure that these ports are restricted as much as possible. To confirm if it does make difference though, as John said, change and try accordingly. Hope this helps?

mail ports are the most common for hackers, 90 percent chance i could hack your switch with nothing more then the ad in the phone book... find the did range, late at night, dial those and try the dn backwards or 4 ones, twice on each did, as soon as you guess a password change the revert dn to 1900 spend money, change the revert back and no one will trace that call... my rpl's and my mail ports are blocked to local calls.. you can't do a call return to an ld number.... fyi btw, i've been on sites that were hacked for 10's of thousands of dollars, calls to south america.. my job was not to block that as much as it was to assist the fbi in finding the calling party.. had the local da on site with a warrent...
