Hi I've got a picture of some soccer players, and I want to change the colour of one of the strips to make it look like my team. I want it to look completely natural. I've tried the image/adujust/hue_saturation way but it looks naff. Any other ideas????

Cheers,

Chris

Goto "select" then "color select". this will mask out the color of your choosing then you can use an adjustment layer of your choosing, like "color balance".

Desaturate that section and do a color layer overlay. That works well for me sometime. U can also try out other different layer filters too like multiply or screen.

I would suggest that you make use of the replace color facility. If you roughly mask the shirts and copy them to a new layer you avoid making colour changes to other elements in the image.

With careful use of the eyedroppers, good, natural resuts can be achieved.

I have made a very quick example which you can find here:
(you will need Acrobat Reader to view it)

The pink and green colours in the flowers (bottom image) are the replaced colours.

Have fun!
