Hi,

I am the new administrator of a BES server with 20 Pearl handsets. One of the users has a problem with his handset so I need to give him a new handset. What is the best way to swap the handsets?

Thanks in advance!

Steve

Depends on the version of BES you use and how much interaction you want the user to have (unless you are in the same location and can do it for him).

Option 1: On BES 4.0 or 4.1 set an activation password on the BES for the user and Enterprise Activate the new device. Job done.

Option 2: Ask the user to backup the old device using Desktop Manager, then plug in the new device. He will be prompted if he wants to switch to the new PIN. Leave it activate over the wire and then they can choose whether to restore the prvious devices' data or not. Job done

Cheers
