Originally Backup Exec (9.1) was installed & configured to run under the admin account on our Win2k3 DC, also running Exchange 2k3 & with the Exchange Agent.
I have created a unique account for the services to run as, and set the appropriate permissions, etc. When running a full backup job (all files, SQL & brick level Exchange) it copies & verifies all sections fine - but still errors with an error of:
Completed status: Failed
Final error: 0xa000848c - Unable to attach to one of the drives.
Final error category: Resource Errors
In the Errors section:
Click an error below to locate it in the job log
Backup - \\SERVER01
Unable to attach to SERVER01\BKUPEXEC.
Unable to attach to SERVER01\BKUPEXEC.
You click it... and it takes you to a location in between
Set Information - \\SERVER01\Microsoft Exchange Public Folders
and
Set Information - \\SERVER01\Microsoft Information Store\First Storage Group
where it just simply displays:
Unable to attach to SERVER01\BKUPEXEC.
Unable to attach to SERVER01\BKUPEXEC.
The error code listed above is a generic one, and doesnt really point to any useful information....
Has anyone come across this before?
I thought I had set the credentials correctly....
