Hi,
I have a BCM400 Rel.3.6. It was our company's inhouse PBX.
We now have a new system for our office and I have to reinstall the BCM in our interop lab. The system is now up and running, and I have both serial and web access to it.I have to change IP addresses to connect it to my lab network. Being totally new to BCM I'm not sure the purpose of two LAN interfaces. I've changed IP address on LAN1, assigned another address to LAN2 and I'm guessing that the next hop router is the default gateway which I changed as well.

Here is what I trying to do and I get an error about the duplicate subnet mask.

What would be a correct way to setup my IP info?
Is there a way to put in dummy IP address for LAN2?

=================== ============
System Name : NEEDSNEWNAME

LAN1 IP Address : 172.26.135.3
LAN1 Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0

LAN2 IP Address : 172.26.135.4
LAN2 Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0

Default Next Hop Router : 172.26.135.1

The easiest way is to change one of the LAN's to be a different IP address range. Usually by default LAN2 is 10.10.11.1. You can't have both LAN's within the same IP range.

I'm not sure if you can get away with it by having different subnet masks?.

Only one LAN (Usually 1) is the published LAN and you would normally set the "next hop" against it.

All the best

If it's working, then leave it alone!.

Thanks Firebird Scrambler.
I've followed you instructions and the system is now reachable from my admin PC on a different subnet.
