How do you change the auto attendant greeting on BCM 200 or 400?

Thanks!

That is a great question NARSBARS! We have a site located in Austin that has a BCM 200 wherein they have recently added someone to their staff and I need to provide instructions on how to change their auto attendant, or change it remotely for them.

We are doing it by using routing and letting the VM number dial out.In place of dialing and internal DN the VM dials the access code and the NXX. The trouble is it seems like a big security problem and I am hoping there is a better way.

If they don't use outdialing for anything else (such as off premise notification, outbound transfer and what not) I'd say build a restriction filter that allows the VM ports to call your phone number(s). I've set customers up this way and it works fine. They give me a list of numbers they might call from (such as their home number, cell number, etc), then block everything and assign their numbers as overrides.

Kind of a pain, but it works.

Or, you can record the greeting as a WAV file, save it and upload it to the BCM.

there is a much easier way. Call into aa. press ** to login. login to sysadmin box (12, 102, 1002) press 99. option 2 is change greeting.

bluemr2,
Thanks for reminding me of TWO things, I should have remembered your answer from a million Norstars and I should ask clearer questions.

I should have asked about BOTH the greeting and home the home menu.

Thanks with a star.
