Can I use a different extension for .asp files?

For example can I get IIS to process .htm as asp
files? Or IIS to process .X99 as active server pages?
Or IIS to process .gif as asp?

I have full access to IIS and NT so please help.
Within the application settings on your IIS computer, you can map file extensions to .dlls. If you map "x99" to the asp.dll, the asp.dll will process the x99 file as if it was an asp page.

How to get to the application settings? Right click on the application folder in the Management Console, on the Virtual Directory Tab, within the Application Frame, choose the Configuration button. Choose the App Mappings tab and map the extension you want to use to the asp .dll.

Hope this helps.
