I have an older Gateway PC that has been upgraded once to a PII motherboard and it has a SCSI hard drive. I keep getting the Blue screen and I tried re-loading the WIN NT and I am still having the problem. I want to change the SCSI HD to a regular one. It is only a 8 gig anyway. What do I need to do to get rid of the SCSI BIOS or do i need to?
Thanks

Checking your BIOS options could give a clue on how to disable the SCSI.

Good luck

Is the SCSI adapter on an add-in card? Remove the card and plug in an IDE drive to the IDE Primary channel, set the BIOS to recognize the drive, and install WinNT on it. Is it NT 4, 3.51, or earlier?

Here's a tip I found about partition sizes and WinNT 4:

Depends on whether the M/B has IDE built in, or whether the SCSI is built in.
In any case , you disable or remove the SCSI, and enable or install an IDE controller. Then get the drive identified, fdisk, and format.
Actually better to let the OS take care of the fdisk and format.
