A user is moving to a workstation where there is an analog line and he is keeping his existing phone which is a 2006. How do I change the line from an analog to a digital?

500 is analog. An M2006 set is digital, and thus needs a digital TN. If there are such things as analog M2006 sets I am not aware of them. Of course, you can simply try building your M2006 on an analog TN and if it's not compatible you'll get an SCH code.
2006 is a digital single line station. you'll need to find his new jack and run a jumper to his present tn. (you can do it, just think of it as a real skinny patch cable)
