Changing a backup from Append to Overwrite

We are using ArcServe 2000. Using the backup wizard I don't see a way that I can set the backup to overwrite the media instead of appending it.

Is there a simple way of doing this with an existing backup job?

Modify the job(right click existing job) then under options there is a Backup Media tab. Here is where you can specify to append or overwrite.
