Hi Everyone:
I have created a database that the "client" is using. I have made some changes / improvements to my copy of the database. I would like to now give the new version to the client, but how do I update their new records to the new database. I tried "append" queries, exporting, etc. But nothing really works well. Does anyone have any suggestions?

This is one of the reasons why applications should be divided into frond-end and back-end mdb files. You can split your copy and send just the f-e. Include code to reattach tables to your customers b-e.

Oh! I was waiting to do that until I had a good working version and until the "client" was networked. I thought it would be harder to make the changes after I split it into a front and back end. My database is for a non-profit charity, which I have been working on for months (of course for free). Would you recommend that I do that now?

I divide into a front and back end very early, certainly prior to copying for someone else's use.

Thanks for the advise. I guess I missed that in the books that I have. Anyway, luckily it was only 2 days of data that I will need to update.
