Sorry for posting this in more than one place. I'm a new member and am just learning to navigate this marvelous site.

Hello all:

I've been cautioned and forewarned that one cannot make changes to ACD sets without risking corruption.
We need to give an "ACD" agent voice mail functionality.

In order to accomplish what I need to, I must give the TN CLS = HTA, FNA, MWA and declare a Hunt and FDN number. Simple enough to a regular phone, but this phoneset is acquired by Symposium.

Is the proper procedure to: de-acquire the set in Symposium(or is the command programmed in LD 11 on the switch?), disable the port in the switch, nul out any keys having ACD functionality, completely delete the set in the switch, enable the port, build a new set on that TN with the correct CLS, FDN and Hunt information, input the TN number and acquire it in Symposium.

I certainly don't want to risk corrupting a database, but this seems like an awful lot of work to make basic switch changes to a set that have nothing to do with ACD functionality.

My question is: Are there any guidelines as to what can and/or cannot be done to a Symposium agents's phoneset?

Sincerely and thanks,

You should out & rebuild (according to Nortel et al)
I have done both ..... change on the fly & out & rebuild.
I've also had problems with both ways -- less so with an out & rebuild.

It may seem like a long trek, but so is finding that one niggly fault :)

<Do I need A Signature or will an X do?>

And the deacquire is done from the Symposium (go to Phonesets in Switch Administration).

You should deaquire first then out and rebuild. Aquire when done.AJK

Hi,

i did never see a problem related to a database corruption when making changes of cls or keys (except Acd keys, of course).
The problems do happen when deleting or moving a tn, or changing direct functions asociated to acd.
Last example : i did put ACNT (direct relations with ACD)on 20 sets last friday without doing anything else than CHG from LD 20. (25.40 / CCS 4.2)

Deacquire from CCS, change in LD20, and reacquire from CCS should be all you need.

Have nice day
