Changes never apply

Whenever I change user information in ADUC like their last name, the change is never reflected in the global address book when searching via Outlook. Can someone tell me why this is and if there is a way to fix it?
 
are you changing the information in all fields?
There are several places to change this information. Also make sure you have the advanced view set in ADUC

If your outlook clients are using cached mode then what you think is the GAL is actually the OAB. Force a rebuild of the Offline Address Book. Depending on the size of your organization, it can take 24-48 hours for the updated OAB to get pushed down to clients. You can force it by selecting to download the address book.
